Education and qualifications

Jaclyn leads Forward Planning - the wealth management and private client service arm at the firm. She specialises in trusts, legacy planning, family offices, as well as matrimonial and probate law. As a seasoned practitioner with over a decade of experience, Jaclyn has earned a reputation as a trusted advisor among private clients requiring personalised counsel. She has successfully helped individuals and families manage complex familial relationships while preserving and maximising their assets.

Not only is Jaclyn a qualified lawyer, she is also a Chartered Accountant. Her deep understanding of business intricacies, compliance, and governance makes her a preferred consultant for high-net-worth clients on a broad spectrum of legal matters. These include tax and trusts, estate and wealth planning, wills and probate, as well as powers of attorney, guardianship, deputyship, family offices, family business succession, and governance and compliance.

Jaclyn is one of Singapore’s few leading lawyers fluent in an emerging area of commerce and law – family offices.  She has guided numerous family offices in managing and consolidating their wealth in Singapore, with assets totaling in the billions. Her clientele covers various sectors from raw materials distribution, manufacturing, and logistics, to technology, media, and entertainment. Having practised law for nearly ten years at one of the world's largest law firms and serving as internal counsel for a regional family office, Jaclyn offers expert cross-border legal advice on tax planning, structuring, and business continuity. Her bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin makes her a trusted advisor to clients from Chinese-speaking regions.

Jaclyn believes in sharing and giving back to society. She has been serving on the Singapore Law Society Tax and Trust Committee and Probate Practice Committee. In this time, she engaged in consultations with various government and practitioner stakeholders on reforms to the tax and trust landscape. She is also actively building the firm’s community law practice by increasing legal touchpoints and awareness for the public on commonly-sought legal services such as wills, probate, and estate planning.
